This week in tech we got to explore different worlds in Minecraft in a Minecraft Lab! I have seen and heard a lot about Minecraft but this was the first time I played it myself! It took a little while to get used to the game controls and understand how to navigate the worlds, but I got the hang of it eventually. It was also fun to see everyone in a virtual space!
Minecraft is known for its ability to allow users to build anything they like. It is also popular among elementary-aged children so many learners might already have experience using it. Utilizing a digital tool that students may already be familiar with is a great way to engage learners in new and exciting ways. The possibilities of building things in Minecraft is endless, due to the pixel-like nature of the graphics, and students could explore completing different projects with the building tools in Minecraft.
