Powerpoint has a bad reputation, but maybe for a good reason. It is an incredible creative tool but most powerpoint presentations are unoriginal and unengaging, especially when it comes to their visuals and formatting.

However, powerpoint is a great and accessible tool for teachers who are interested in creating their own original graphics and resources. It is a super easy way of creating and editing creative images and without having to learn your way around difficult editing programs, such as photoshop.

In class, we got to have some fun and play around with making slides and saving them as images. I chose to make an image of my dog, Daisy, catching a snowball in her mouth in space. It was super easy to make and opens up a world of possibility when it comes to creating content and teaching tools.

Teachers can also use powerpoint to easily craft worksheets for students. This allows teachers to fully customize the worksheets they use in class and provide materials for students that will optimize their learning. Powerpoint slides could also be used by teachers to make original posters to display in classroom. I made a poster by adding text to an image I found online on pexels.com. This poster highlights what to remember when writing a Haiku and could be displayed during a poetry unit to provide a visual for students when they are writing their own poems!
